The Marinelle is a small duffel bag made of thick canvas.

It is a sturdy canvas tube that will withstand all the wear and tear inflicted on it by the animal: stones, trees, brambles, barbed wire. The Marinelle is designed to protect the sensitive items you take with you on a hike: your tent, your air mattress. Contact with a bramble vine will destroy these items beyond repair. A modern plastic tent, placed on a pack saddle without protection, has a lifespan of 30 minutes…

Protected in a Marinelle, its lifespan is unlimited.

Structure

The Marinelle is made of canvas, which can withstand scratches from brambles and barbed wire.

It closes with a flap secured by four Velcro fasteners and a plastic clip.

A strap makes it easy to carry.

Closing method

1 – Stick the two wide Velcro strips together on each side, which reduces the diameter.

2 – Fold the flap and stick it down with the wide Velcro strip, which prevents water from getting in.

3 – Clip on the plastic buckle.

Dimensions

The Marinelle comes in two sizes:

– Size S is 60 cm long, 20 cm in diameter and has a capacity of 19 litres.

– Size M is 70 cm long, 26 cm in diameter and has a capacity of 37 litres.

Loading onto different packsaddles

Marinelles can be loaded onto all types of packsaddles: Balaïtous or Bastillon, Balissandre or Bassador, or any type of cross-bar packsaddle.

Maintenance of the Marinelle

The Marinelle can be cleaned with a brush, soap and warm water. It can also be put in the washing machine using a ‘delicate wash’ cycle to maintain its waterproofing.
