Special shape

The Bassador pack-saddle carpet is designed to fit the shape of a horse or mule’s body.

Its rounded shape blends with the animal’s curves for a more aesthetic look.

Cut into 2 flanges

The two-piece design prevents the Couveton from creasing.

The Bassador Couveton consists of two pieces of thick fabric, open at the back so that the felt can be easily slipped inside.

This unique design allows for ventilation and natural perspiration wicking.

• Felt

There is a 20 mm thick layer of felt covering the entire surface of the Bassador Couveton.

If there is a problem with the pads coming into contact with an animal with a particular saddling shape, it is very easy to insert and stick on pieces or strips of felt.

Removable and washable

The back of the Couveton du Bassador closes with Velcro.

When you return from your hike with your animal, simply open it, remove the felt and put the cover in the washing machine.

The Bassador Couveton is the only pac-saddle carpet with a removable, washable cover.

Dimensions of the Bassador’s carpet Couveton: 73 cm in length (along the length of the animal) and 57 cm in height for each flange.

Anti-recoil device

Some animals (perhaps 1 in 20) have what is known as a ‘camel gait’. This means that they wiggle their pelvis with each step. The result is that the carpet shifts to the right, then to the left, and eventually slides backwards.

Here is the trick that the Randoline team came up with to combat this phenomenon: sew a strap that wraps around the back arch.
