The Avoinelle is a waterproof double-walled bag designed to hold grain
It is a sturdy canvas tube that can withstand rough treatment from the animal: stones, trees, brambles and barbed wire. The Avoinelle can hold 6.3 kg of grain (barley, oats, etc.) in two pouches connected by a strip of fabric.
The Avoinelle simply slots onto the saddle pommel or the crossbar of a pack saddle.
The Avoinelle can be fitted to all types of pack saddles: the Balissandre, the Bassador, the Bastillon, the Balaïtous, as well as cross-strap pack saddles. It can also be clipped onto the pommel of a saddle.

Structure
The Avoinelle consists of two layers: an outer layer made of tarpaulin, which will withstand scratches from brambles and barbed wire, and an inner layer made of waterproof technical fabric (orange in colour).
It fastens with a flap secured by a Velcro strip and a plastic clip.
The two pouches are connected by a wide strip of fabric with a loop through which it can be threaded onto the pommel of a saddle or the crossbar of a pack saddle.
Carried on the shoulder
The Avoinelle is worn over the shoulder for short distances.
