Preparation for the trip

Before hiking with a donkey or horse, you need to have a few hours tuition to learn the basic rules and needs of the animal.

Likewise, before going on a hiking trip with the Randoline, each centre will organise a lesson of a few hours, so that the team can master the basic techniques needed for holidaying with the animal and the Randoline.

The passenger will learn how to slow down for descents and for any difficult places encountered (rutted, narrow or rocky) on the lane.

The accompanier will learn how to handle the animal and also how to uncouple the Randoline for places to narrow or difficult to pass safely.

These lessons are very simple; they require no previous knowledge of handling either animals or of driving carriages.

Some say, that it is the animal that learns how to look after the team rather than the inverse !
