The pack-saddle transfers its load on the back of the donkey by four independent pads. Each pad is fixed on the arch throuh a buffer iron-rubber. It pivots on two axes to be based permanently on the back without effort or constraint, and to adapt to permanent body movements. As donkeys are more or less bony, as their spine is more or less prominent, the position of each pad is adjustable on the arch more or less away from the spine. The pads can move on 27° crosswise and more than 50° lengthwise
